ᝰ THE STORY
Ninik Idik—the eldest of her village, is believed to be 120 years old. Each wrinkle is a silent testament to the life she has lived. The eldest of her village, she is more than a woman—she is a living archive of time itself. Among the Baduy people, she is revered, her name spoken with the weight of respect, her presence carrying the echoes of generations past.
Her gaze holds an unspoken story—both innocent and boundlessly wise, as if she has seen beyond what most can fathom. Beneath her quiet demeanor lies a strength forged through trials beyond imagination. Her grandson, himself well into old age at over 65, marvels at all she has endured. What hardships, what triumphs must have shaped her soul? Perhaps more than any of us will ever know.
With humble sincerity, she offered nothing but water, an act so simple yet profound. A gift from one who has lived through times we can only read about, a woman whose hands have touched history itself. In her home, relics of another era remain—a collection of ancient Dutch East Indies coins, whispers of a time when the land she calls home was under foreign rule. Yet, here she stands, unwavering.
There is something unexplainable about her presence, something almost otherworldly. Perhaps after more than a century, the veil between this life and the next begins to thin. A sixth sense? An understanding that cannot be taught, only earned through time. Even as she sat before the camera, appearing reserved, her essence filled the space—commanding yet delicate, simple yet profound.
Some encounters leave an imprint deeper than words can convey. Ninik Idik is one of them. To meet her is to be confronted with the enormity of time itself, to reflect on what it means to live, to endure, to leave behind a legacy woven into the very fabric of a people.
May she continue to walk this earth for as long as fate allows, carrying with her the wisdom of ages.

Limited to 15 editions worldwide, each photograph is processed in Germany on Fujiflex Crystal Archive Paper, one of the world's finest professional photographic papers.
Unlike inkjet printing, each image is laser-exposed onto silver halide photographic paper and chemically developed using a traditional chromogenic process. The ultra-high-gloss polyester surface delivers extraordinary sharpness, exceptional tonal depth and a remarkable three-dimensional appearance. Under proper lighting, microscopic crystals within the emulsion create an exceptional sense of depth, giving the photograph an almost backlit presence that is unlike conventional photographic prints.
Each artwork is individually numbered and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed, dated and embossed by the artist. The certificate also records the provenance of every edition, documenting where each of the fifteen prints has found its permanent home.
The artist proposes 15 copies, each available in the following sizes:
